JUNE 9 - JULY 7 : 10 - 12 PM
What’s your point of view? How does art change a community? How can a community experience theatre in new and invigorating way? This course is designed to inspire high schoolers to find their voice as an artist, and fuel their social curiosity. Here, students will explore the work of performance artists like Marilyn Arsem and groups like Improv Everywhere - whose mission is to create unexpected performances in public spaces. Students will learn more about movement, stage picture, tableau, and discover unique relationships between the audience and the performance artist. The class will conclude with an outdoor, collaborative performance art piece.
